A Stones Throw From Poverty Point Resevior
The 2,700 acre man-made reservoir is named after nearby Poverty Point, an archeological site settled between 1,400 and 700 BC consisting of Native-American earthworks and other artifacts.
Two Miles From Black Bear Golf Club
Launched in 2006, Black Bear Golf Club is a 7,200 yard championship course with a layout immediately ranked as a Golf Digest America’s Best in 2007 and one of Golf Week Magazine’s BEST Courses for 2009. Black Bear plays host to the Adams Pro Tour but also attracts golfers of all levels with affordable rates, four sets of tees, and a complete practice facility.
